To reduce crime by giving “At risk youths” alternatives to drug dealing, prostitution, etc., by providing real opportunities to earn an honest living and to strengthen the community by offering hope and providing the tools needed to control their own destiny with a two year follow-up.

NHED YOUTH PROGRAM

The NHED offers recreational/ cultural/ academic clubs and activities, leadership development, recreational field trips, educational field trips, team facilitator mentorship, team facilitator supportive services, and academic support. We also offer small group and individual tutoring in the areas of Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Technology.

NHED FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The NHED Family and Community Involvement activities are planned year around. Activities include Family Breakfast, Movie Night, Family Fun at the Water Park, Family Summits, Community Fun Day and much more. Activities are designed to enhance personal empowerment and increase family involvement in the community

NHED Spring Break and Summer Camp

The NHED Spring Break and Summer Camp is offered during school break. Camps are loaded with recreational fun and interactive educational learning opportunities

NHED FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The NHED Parent Empowerment University offers Life Management Skills and Employability Services to adults living in the community. These services include training, goal setting and follow-up, GED, resume writing, interviewing skills, dress for success, computer instruction, ESOL, relationship and conflict resolution . A certificate is awarded to each participant who completes the program. This achievement will demonstrate the increased activity of the graduate in the lives of their children and of their community period opportunities
